What’s still at stake? Europe’s Top Leagues
As the end of the season approaches, there is still plenty at stake for the top teams in Europe’s major leagues. From fighting for the title to avoiding relegation, the last few games of the season are crucial for many clubs. This article will provide an inspection of the top leagues in Europe and take a closer look at what’s still on the line for the biggest teams in the final stretch of the season.
European Competition:

Bundesliga:
The title race in the Bundesliga is going down to the wire. Two games left, and just one point separating Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. Bayern have won 10 Bundesliga titles consecutively and Dortmund are pushing for their first title since 2012. Will Thomas Tuchel’s Bavarian giants win again, or will the young Dortmund side, spearheaded by Jude Bellingham, take the cake?

La Liga:
In Xavi’s first full season as Barcelona’s manager, the Catalan giants have reclaimed the title. The most exciting games will be happening towards the lower end of the table. Almeria, Cadiz, Real Valladolid, and Getafe are all separated by just two points. Keep your eyes focused on La Liga, there are some incredible battles that are going to take place.
Ligue 1:
PSG look set to win the league once again. Only a significant slip-up could see them fall off the top spot. Lens can secure Champions League football for the first time in 20 years and Marseille are poised to join them.
Ajaccio, Troyes, and Angers have already been relegated so it’s very much a battle at the top to secure qualification to Europe’s elite competitions.
Premier League:
No league has as much on the line as the Premier League. At the top end, Manchester City are set to win the league again after Arsenal slipped again at home against Brighton. Newcastle and Manchester United currently occupy the other Champions League spots but Liverpool have enjoyed a recent resurgence, winning their last six games consecutively. Will they qualify for next season’s Champions League? Failure to do so would mean Liverpool drop into the Europa League for the first time in six years.
The fight for survival is just as entertaining. Southampton are the first team to be relegated whilst Nottingham Forest, Everton, Leeds, and Leicester are all battling for safety. Who will go down?
