With the 2023/24 football season swiftly approaching, the summer transfer window is in full flow. Exciting transfers are happening all over Europe and there’s lots more to certainly come.
Below, 365Scores discusses all of the latest transfer rumours and reports all of the latest confirmed transfers.
Rumoured:
David Raya to Arsenal: Aaron Ramsdale is a good goalkeeper but David Raya would transform Arsenal’s side from a very good one to a great one. He is an excellent goalkeeper. Arsenal have been rumoured to have made a bid for the Spanish goalkeeper, with Matt Turner set to become Nottingham Forest’s number one. If Arsenal pull this one off, they will surely be looked at as very credible title contenders.
Harry Maguire to West Ham: West Ham have had a €25m bid rejected by Manchester United for Harry Maguire. The English centre-back has been replaced as captain of the Red Devils and with Lisandro Martinez and Raphael Varane ahead of him in the pecking order, Maguire would be happy to move to a club where more regular minutes would be available. Manchester United are also happy to move Maguire on, but they still deem the player as important and if their valuation of around €40m is not made, they will keep the centre-back.
Victor Osimhen to Al-Hilal: Saudi Arabian teams are now coming for Europe’s top players, not just those coming to the ends of their careers. Al-Hilal made an offer to Napoli in the region of €100m and wages to Osimhen of around €1m per week! It will be fascinating to see how this deal progresses.
Sofyan Amrabat to Manchester United: Amrabat wowed fans in the World Cup with his impressive midfield performances for Morocco. United are said to be interested in the Fiorentina midfielder. With Donny van de Beek and Fred seemingly on the way out, this gives way for a new midfielder to enter the fray, and it seems that Amrabat could be that man. His ball progression and defensive acumen are exceptional and Ten Hag has worked with the player before at FC Utrecht.
Progressing:
Micky van de Ven to Tottenham: Spurs are in advanced talks with Wolfsburg regarding the transfer of centre-back Micky van de Ven. Van de Ven is a Dutch international, 22 years old, who impressed in the Bundesliga last season.
Ousmane Dembele to PSG: PSG are interested in the services of Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele and have already agreed on personal terms with the winger. The French international has been linked with a move away from Camp Nou for a while, with his contract set to expire next summer. The 26-year-old’s dazzling performances and improved fitness over the last season have caught the attention of PSG, who see him as a perfect addition to their attacking force and to fill the void left by Lionel Messi and potentially Kylian Mbappe too.
Confirmed:
Robert Sanchez to Chelsea: Chelsea now have two top Spanish goalkeepers in their roster, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Robert Sanchez. They have snapped up the Brighton goalkeeper on a €30m deal with a contract that lasts until 2030. Sanchez’s distribution and shot prevention make him one of the most effective goalkeepers in the league and he will seriously bolster Chelsea’s defence.
Sadio Mane to Al-Nassr: Mane’s thoroughly underwhelming time at Bayern Munich has come to an end. There was so much promise after his illustrious career at Liverpool but he ended up conflicting with his teammates and underperforming on the pitch. In what will become a lethal partnership, Mane joins Cristiano Ronaldo at Al-Nassr.
Josko Gvardiol to Manchester City: Manchester City are unrelenting. They’ve just won the treble and now n comes the Croatian contingent of Mateo Kovacic and now Josko Gvardiol. The 21-year-old centre-back is strong, tenacious and possesses an extraordinary passing range and ability to progress the ball up the pitch. It is no surprise that Pep wanted him.
Axel Disasi to Chelsea: With Wesley Fofana suffering from an ACL injury, Chelsea have swiftly acted to sign another young French centre-back, Axel Disasi. The Monaco defender impressed in Ligue 1 last season and has made a €40m move to Stamford Bridge.
Riyad Mahrez to Al-Ahli: Al-Ahli have signed City veteran Riyad Mahrez. After a treble-winning season, Pep Guardiola has decided that it is the right time to shake up the squad and Mahrez, despite all his excellent contributions, makes an agreeable exit to Saudi Arabia after nine years in the Premier League.
Rasmus Højlund to Manchester United: Manchester United have been in dire need of a striker and now they have signed a very promising one, Rasmus Højlund. The Dane will offer a different profile. The young Danish striker is a throwback to strikers of older years, an Erling Haaland mould, and whilst there can be doubts about his experience, his evident potential can not be denied.
