The Skills Challenge
The Skills Challenge, introduced in its current format in 2022, involves three teams competing across four rounds of skill-based challenges.
In the first round, teams participate in a team relay, aiming to complete tasks with speed and precision to earn 100 points.
The second round tests passing abilities, requiring players to pass the ball through various targets to accumulate points, with the highest-scoring team also earning 100 points.
Moving to the third round, teams showcase their shooting prowess by making field goals from different spots, with the highest-scoring team awarded 200 points.
The two teams with the highest overall scores advance to the final round, which features a thrilling half-court shootout.
Jordan Clarkson, Walker Kessler, and Collin Sexton from Team Jazz are the reigning champions.
This year’s participants in the Skills Challenge include Team Pacers represented by Tyrese Haliburton, Bennedict Mathurin, and Myles Turner; Team Top Pick featuring Paolo Banchero, Anthony Edwards, and Victor Wembanyama from the Orlando Magic, Minnesota Timberwolves, and San Antonio Spurs respectively; and Team All-Stars comprising Scottie Barnes from the Toronto Raptors, Tyrese Maxey from the Philadelphia 76ers, and Trae Young from the Atlanta Hawks. These talented players will showcase their agility, passing accuracy, and shooting skills in a bid to claim victory in this exciting competition.
Three-Point Contest
This contest consists of multiple rounds where participants attempt to score as many points as possible within a set time limit by shooting from five different locations around the three-point line.
In each round, contestants have one minute to complete as many shots as they can, with designated racks of basketballs placed at various spots along the three-point arc. These racks contain five basketballs each, with one “money ball” worth two points. Contestants can choose the order in which they want to shoot from the racks.
This year’s participants in the 3-Point Contest are:
- Malik Beasley (Milwaukee Bucks)
- Jalen Brunson (New York Knicks)
- Tyrese Haliburton (Indiana Pacers)
- Damian Lillard (Milwaukee Bucks)
- Lauri Markkanen (Utah Jazz)
- Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland Cavaliers)
- Karl-Anthony Towns (Minnesota Timberwolves)
- Trae Young (Atlanta Hawks)
These sharpshooters will battle it out to see who can sink the most shots from long range and claim victory in one of the most highly anticipated events of the NBA All-Star Weekend.
Steph vs. Sabrina Contest
On February 17, Stephen Curry and Sabrina Ionescu, two of the best three-point shooters in the NBA and WNBA, are set to participate in a unique 3-point challenge. Curry will take shots from the NBA 3-point line using standard NBA-sized basketballs, while Ionescu will shoot from the WNBA 3-point line with WNBA-sized basketballs.
Who’s going to win this epic challenge?
