“I’m Born Ready” – April 2023: Crypto.com Arena

What 13-year-old Cooper lacked in ability, he most certainly made up for in self-confidence. Instead of giving himself the full 30 seconds to win, the young man decided to go for the buzzer beater, using his precious time to whip up the crowd instead. Whilst he missed, he certainly created excitement in the arena and it will undoubtedly be a moment that Cooper, or the NBA community, won’t forget in a hurry.

“LeBearHug” – January 2013: American Airlines Arena

This lucky Heat fan showed up to watch his team play ball and left with $75k, an incredible hug from LeBron James and one of the most iconic fan videos ever. Few things could make LeBron thigh-and-drive an unsuspecting fan in a timeout, but this seemed to be one of them. Unbelievable.

“The Worst Dunk Attempt Ever” – May 2012: State Farm Arena

In May 2012, this Hawks fan was given the chance to dunk during halftime of a playoff game against the Celtics. He was even given a trampoline to make his task slightly easier. Unfortunately, not even the trampoline could support his dunk and the poor fan fell flat onto his face.

“The Best Dunk Attempt Ever….?” – January 2011 – US Airways Center

Following on from that rather poor dunk attempt, in January 2011, one fan might have inadvertently pulled off the world’s best-ever dunk. In the 3rd quarter timeout, Nick Corrales overjumps his trick and ends up going through the basketball hoop, rim and net. It has since become an iconic clip and not one that is often recreated.

“REJECTED BY… *checks notes* girlfriend” – March 2008: Toyota Center

This brave fan decided proposing to his girlfriend would be wise and romantic in front of drunken sports fans at a Rockets game in 2008. Sadly, his girlfriend didn’t agree and rejected his offer with the whole arena watching. She swiftly exited the stadium and Rockets mascot Clutch lived up to his name and quickly came to console this poor gentleman. Devastating.

“Fan gets a little too comfortable…” – October 2015 – Capitol One Arena

Sometimes serious hustle can leave a player falling over the courtside. This is what happened to Ramon Sessions in a season opener against Oklahoma City Thunder. Yet thankfully instead of any grave injury, a gleeful courtside fan broke Sessions’ fall, and gave him not one, not two, not three, not four, but five, yes five, taps on the butt, including two hearty squeezes. A little unconventional but I’m sure Sessions appreciated the break of the fall nonetheless.

“Parade Inside Milwaukee YUHHHHHH” – February 2022: Fiserv Forum

This I can’t even begin to explain. It was a party in the Fiserv Forum. Just watch.

“Chef Curry with the *assist* boi” – February 2017: Chase Center

With one fan struggling to win the big prize, a disguised, athletic-looking man intercepted the wayward shot and popped the ball into the $5k pot. It was counted and the stadium went wild. The disguised man was Steph Curry who quickly diverged from the Warriors team talk and helped this man win a hefty sum of money. What a man.
