Can Taylor Swift’s “Reputation” as the Chiefs’ Good Luck Charm Help Them Win Super Bowl LVIII?
Since sparking her relationship with Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce on the team’s September 24 game against the Chicago Bears, the legendary singer-songwriter Taylor Swift has been regarded as the Kansas City franchise’s good luck charm. Following the Chiefs’ 17-10 win this past Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens for the AFC Conference title, the Kansas City franchise is advancing to Super Bowl LVIII on February 11, where they will compete head-to-head against the San Francisco 49ers in Las Vegas for the prestigious title.
Throughout the 2023-24 NFL season, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have sparked a media storm as the Eras Tour singer has attended 12 of her NFL boyfriend’s games. The decorated singer has been considered the Chiefs’ good luck charm as the franchise has won 9 out of 12 games amidst the singer’s presence this past regular season and postseason.
With their good luck charm by their side throughout most of the season, the Chiefs are advancing to their fourth Super Bowl appearance in the last five years. It has yet to be confirmed if the Reputation singer will attend Super Bowl LVIII as she will complete the final leg of her Japan tour in the week leading up to the prestigious game.
Swift’s last performance on her Japan tour is in Tokyo on February 10, and the singer will have a quick turn-around if she plans on making it to Kelce’s Super Bowl game the following day at 6:30 pm E.T.
Super Bowl LVIII will be Taylor’s thirteenth Chiefs game that she attends, and Swift has stated on multiple occasions that the number 13 happens to be her lucky number. While for many, the number 13 is associated with bad luck, for Taylor Swift who was born on December 13, 1989, the number has brought her good fortune throughout her career, and she even writes the number on her hand before each performance.
It is no coincidence that Taylor includes the number 13 in her X account username, as the number has brought her great luck. After releasing her first album in 2006, it went gold within 13 weeks, and her first No. 1 song had a 13-second intro. The singer noted that whenever she won an award, she was seated in the 13th seat, the 13th row, the 13th section, or row M, which is the 13th letter in the alphabet.
Fans have been quick to note all of the Easter eggs associated with this year’s Super Bowl that include the legendary singer’s lucky number. This year’s match is Super Bowl LVIII, the 58th Super Bowl, and when you add 5 and 8 together, you get Taylor’s lucky number 13.
The prestigious game is being played on February 11, 2024. February is the second month of the year, so if you add the month and date of the game together, 2 and 11, you get 13. The coincidences of Swift’s lucky number and the Super Bowl do not stop there. The Chiefs will be facing the San Francisco 49ers in the Super Bowl, and if you add 4 and 9 together, you get 13.
A Swift fan also noted that by the end of Taylor’s Japan leg of her Eras Tour, she will have had 13 international Eras Tour performances, and the time difference between Tokyo and Las Vegas is 13 hours.

With all of these hidden Easter eggs leading up to this year’s Super Bowl, there is no doubt that the Eras Tour singer was meant to be the Kansas City franchise’s good luck charm. The Chiefs could use some luck as they are favored to lose the big game next weekend. The 49ers are currently 2-point favorites for Super Bowl LVIII, and when looking at the money line, the San Francisco franchise is favored at -128 while the Chiefs are +108.
While the odds for this year’s match are not in the Chiefs’ favor, the Kansas City franchise faced similar odds in last year’s matchup and managed to clinch the Super Bowl LVII title against the Philadelphia Eagles.
While it is not confirmed, Taylor is expected to attend the Super Bowl game to cheer on her boyfriend as he competes for the prestigious title. With all these Easter eggs connected to the singer’s lucky number, the Chiefs should hope that the singer will attend the February 11 game. It will be interesting to see how the Kansas City franchise performs in this year’s Super Bowl and if Taylor Swift can work her magic as the team’s good luck charm.
