MLB Pitcher Strikeout Props #1: Strikeouts in Seattle
Martin Perez (TEX) over 4.5 strikeouts (-130 @ DraftKings) vs. SEA
Martin Perez continues to get disrespected on the strikeout line. He has 164 strikeouts in 183.1 innings this season, including 69 in 72.1 innings in the second half.
Perez has gone over 4.5 strikeouts in 23 of 30 starts this season, which includes all three of his starts against Seattle. As of late, he has 5+ strikeouts in seven of his last eight starts and 12 of his last 14.
It’s not like he just squeaked by in those previous starts against Seattle, either. He has 23 strikeouts in 17 innings with 7, 9, and 7 strikeouts in those three starts.
I’ll go up the ladder with Perez: He has 6+ strikeouts in 8 of his last 13 starts, including 7+ in six of those.
MLB Pitcher Strikeout Props #2: Glasnow is good to go
Tyler Glasnow (TB) over 3.5 strikeouts (+115 @ FanDuel) vs. CLE
Tyler Glasnow has been a strikeout machine in his career before undergoing Tommy John Surgery last year. Prior to that, he had 123 strikeouts in just 88 innings after striking out 91 in 57.1 innings in 2020.
Glasnow isn’t expected to pitch deep into the game, but he shouldn’t need more than three or four innings to get to four strikeouts.
Glasnow pitched seven innings across four rehab games earlier this month. He had multiple strikeouts in each outing, topping out with six strikeouts in 2.2 innings after racking up four strikeouts in two innings the start prior.
I’ll happily take +115 for Glasnow to get only four strikeouts tonight.
MLB Pitcher Strikeout Props #3: Atop the Hill
Rich Hill (BOS) over 3.5 strikeouts (-165 @ Unibet) vs. BAL
Rich is getting up there in age but he isn’t over the Hill yet. Hill is an old-school pitcher that can still pick up some strikeouts.
Hill has 4+ strikeouts in 14 of his 23 starts this season, including four of his last six. He had four strikeouts against Kansas City in his last start and struck out seven against these same Baltimore Orioles last week.
The O’s have the fourth-highest strikeout rate vs. LHP (24.8%) this season and that’s up to 25% over the last 30 days.
Hill has only gotten better against the Orioles this season, hitting 4+ strikeouts in all three starts. He had four in April, five in May, and seven in September.
