At the start of this calendar year, Harry Kane had only scored five premier league goals in twenty-one games. Former Tottenham defender William Gallas believed the club should have sold the striker to Manchester City last summer and cashed in on the money. Gallas spoke about the striker saying, “At the beginning of the season, I said they have to sell him. Harry wanted to leave, and he was really disappointed he didn’t go.”

This season hasn’t been Harry Kane’s finest. Tottenham’s star striker was struggling to score goals and fans weren’t happy with his performances. However, recently it seems Kane has a new spark as he’s starting to score again. The England captain has scored five goals in Spurs last four Premier League games.

Breaking Records

Kane scored his 175th and 176th goals PL goals against Everton last night. The striker has climbed up the Premier League all-time goal scoring list, leapfrogging Thierry Henry. The Tottenham player is now just one goal behind Chelsea legend Frank Lampard and is keen to beat Alan Shearer’s record of 260.

Kane has scored some cracking goals in the last few games. When Spurs beat City 3-2, Kane and teammate Son Heung-min equalled Didier Drogba and Frank Lampard’s impressive record of 36 goal contributions together. They went on to make history together when Spurs beat Leeds United 4-0 at the end of February. Kane passed the ball to Son to score in the 85th minute taking their total up to 37 and breaking the Premier League record!

Club legend Teddy Sheringham has claimed Kane is “one the best strikers in the world”. Former Spurs striker said, “He’s the best No 9 in the world for me. He’s been the best for the last four or five years. Keep proving it year in and year out.” Sheringham doesn’t doubt that Kane is capable and that he will catch Shearer’s all-time Premier League goal record.
Sheringham believes that in order for Kane to win the games’s biggest trophies. He said, “Short career, you get probably 12-14 years if you’re lucky. He’s coming into a crossroads in his career of what do I do, do I stay at a club which might challenge or do I go somewhere I know they’re going to challenge. If I was advising him, you want to play at the top level, you want to play in Champions League finals, you want to be playing for the league title. If you want to do that, I think he needs to leave.”
