Five players who stood out in the Champions League: ft. 365Scores’ latest statistics technology

The Tuesday and Wednesday night floodlights shone brightly for this round of Champions League fixtures, revealing moments of brilliance that left fans in awe. Across the 16 wicked fixtures, five extraordinary players emerged as the stars of the show, captivating spectators with their dazzling skills and impressive performances.

Using 365Scores’ new stats technology, we’re going to analyze the performances of these three superstars.

Rasmus Højlund: Copenhagen 43 Manchester United

The great Dane has yet to score in the Premier League but comes alive in the Champions League. After his two goals against Copenhagen, he is tied with Alvaro Morata as the top scorer in the competition.

He was electric against Copenhagen. Giving the defenders not even a moment of rest, Hojlund scored a brace before 30 minutes on the clock and he forced the goalkeeper into a top save with a thunderous strike shortly after.

Antoine Griezmann: Atletico Madrid 6-0 Celtic

Fresh out of being awarded the 21st best player in the world at the Ballon d’Or awards, Griezmann showed against Celtic why he deserves to be ranked higher next year.

Two goals (from 0.75 xG), four chances created and 88% of his passes completed, this was an absolute masterclass from Grizou. If he continues this kind of form, Atletico could make a seriously deep run in the Champions League this year.

Bukayo Saka: Arsenal 2-0 Sevilla

Bukayo Saka just gets better and better and this season he has announced himself on the world stage. Against Sevilla, he played with the authority, composure and ability of a seasoned veteran. It is easy to forget that he is still just 22 years old.

He assisted teammate Leandro Trossard with a beautiful ball across the box, following a sensational Jorginho through ball. He also scored with such poise and grace. Receiving the ball on the edge of the box on the right-hand side, Saka cut inside a hopeless defender and curled the ball into the corner of the net. Sensational.

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia: Napoli 1-1 Union Berlin

There aren’t many players more entertaining to watch than Napoli’s Kvaratskhelia. The Georgian Messi was electric against Union Berlin, completing six successful dribbles and creating four chances.

There were doubts over whether Khvicha would be able to replicate his form from last year. Those doubts are mostly being dispelled as he continues to prove why he is one of the most exciting wingers in the world.

Rodrygo: Real Madrid 3-0 Braga

Rodrygo was exceptional against Braga. Marauding around the entire front line, he was almost uncontainable. Completing 89% of his passes, scoring one and assisting another, Rodrygo showed why he and Vinicius mean serious business this year. With Bellingham behind them, anything is possible.
