Chiefs Win the Playoffs Divisional Round in “Style” Amidst Taylor Swift’s Presence

Following last night’s 27-24 win against the Buffalo Bills, the Kansas City Chiefs are advancing to the AFC Championship round of the NFL Playoffs. The Chiefs’ good luck charm, legendary singer Taylor Swift, was in attendance last night cheering on her boyfriend, Chiefs’ tight end Travis Kelce.

Kelce and Swift broke the internet when the Eras Tour singer attended her first Chiefs game on September 24, 2023, when Kansas City beat the Chicago Bears. Swift has attended 11 of her boyfriend’s games throughout this 2023-24 NFL season, and many fans consider the singer the team’s good luck charm.

Fans were skeptical of the team’s good luck charm when Kansas City endured a two-game losing skid amidst Swift’s presence, but the skid quickly ended on December 17 when the Chiefs changed their “Reputation” and beat the Patriots.

Kelce’s stats amidst Swift’s presence across the eleven games she has attended this 2023-24 regular and postseason are as follows:

  • September 24, 2023: Chiefs vs Chicago Bears (41-10)- Kelce had 7 catches for 69 yards and 1 touchdown
  • October 1, 2023: Chiefs vs New York Jets (23-20)- Kelce had 6 catches for 60 yards
  • October 12, 2023: Chiefs vs Denver Broncos (19-8)- Kelce had 9 catches for 124 yards
  • October 22, 2023: Chiefs vs Los Angeles Chargers (31-17)- Kelce had 12 catches for 179 yards and 1 touchdown
  • December 3, 2023: Chiefs vs Green Bay Packers (19-27)- Kelce had 4 catches for 81 yards
  • December 10, 2023: Chiefs vs Buffalo Bills (17-20)- Kelce had 6 catches for 83 yards
  • December 17, 2023: Chiefs vs Patriots (27-17)- Kelce had 5 catches for 28 yards
  • December 25, 2023: Chiefs vs Raiders (14-20)- Kelce had 5 catches for 44 yards
  • December 31, 2023: Chiefs vs Bengals (25-17)- Kelce had 3 catches for 16 yards
  • January 13, 2024: Chiefs vs Dolphins (26-7)- Kelce had 7 catches for 71 yards
  • January 21, 2024: Chiefs vs Bills (27-24)- Kelce had 5 catches for 75 yards and 2 touchdowns

Last night, the Eras Tour singer was accompanied by Travis’ parents, his brother and former Eagles player Jason Kelce, and his wife Kylie to cheer on the Chiefs’ tight end as he competed in hopes of advancing to the next NFL Playoff round.

Travis’ brother and co-host on his podcast New Heights, Jason Kelce, announced his retirement from the NFL to his Eagles teammates last week following the Eagles’ loss to the Buccaneers. After bidding farewell to 13 seasons in the NFL, Jason was in good spirits as he cheered his brother on in the Divisional Round.

The Chiefs entered last night’s game favored to lose the Divisional Round. The Bills were favored to win by 2.5 points, and when looking at the money line, the Buffalo franchise was favored -145 while the Chiefs were +120. The Chiefs defied the odds and clinched a win as Taylor Swift was in attendance cheering on the team.

Kelce had an impressive game with all his loved ones in attendance. The Chiefs’ tight end had his highest receiving yards in recent games since he last played the Bills on December 10. Not only did he have his highest receiving yards, but the tight end also secured two touchdowns for his team in the Divisional Round, the greatest number of touchdowns Kelce has scored in a single game this 2023-24 season.

Last night’s win advances the Chiefs to the AFC Championship game, where they will compete against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday, January 28. The Ravens will host Kansas City at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland. The Ravens are favored to win Sunday’s game by 3.5 points. Additionally, the Ravens are favored on the money line -165 while the Chiefs are +140.

The Chiefs defied the odds in the Divisional Round game and can do so again in the AFC Championship game. Swift has attended the Chiefs’ last seven games, so fans can expect that the team’s good luck charm will be in attendance at this Sunday’s game, as the Chiefs will need any luck they can get.
