Bad Bunny has just released his new album, nadie sabe que va a pasar mañana (nobody knows what will happen tomorrow), and the groovy, Latin-trap-inspired record has smashed several Spotify streaming records. In the album, El Conejo Malo discusses many of his favourite topics; money, fame, girls, relationships and… Lionel Messi.
For Benito, it’s clear who he chooses in the GOAT debate and it’s not the man from Portugal. He gives the Argentinian wizard five, yes FIVE, mentions throughout the album, each one praising the footballing legend more than the last.
Here are all the Messi lines from Bad Bunny’s nadie sabe que va a pasar mañana and our thoughts on each.
“Monaco”
‘Lo que tú haga’ a mí no me impresiona

Translation: What you do doesn’t impress me, it’s like scoring a goal after Messi and Maradona
Bad Bunny’s ‘Monaco’ is an incredible track. He flexes on everyone, telling everyone how he’s a VIP at the Grand Prix in Monaco. He hangs out with LeBron James and Leonardo DiCaprio. He notices how all the cars are quicker in person. He even confirms that Sofia Vergara is even prettier in person.
He then calls out any artist that tries to challenge him, by saying that anything they do is like scoring a goal after Messi and Maradona. Essentially it’s already been done and there is no way that you can do it better. Try if you like.
“Teléfono Nuevo”
‘El Conejo es Messi, yo soy el Mbappé (Pa’ que sepa’)‘
Translation: “El Conejo” is Messi, I’m the Mbappé
Luar La L is a much younger but still immensely popular artist. He calls Bad Bunny the GOAT by calling him the Messi of the music world, before describing himself as the Mbappé, the up-and-coming legend on the block.

“Vuelve Candy B”

Translation: Since Messi is in the USA, everyone knows who the GOAT is? It’s no longer Tom Brady
El Conejo lets NFL superstar Tom Brady know that now Messi is in the country, there is no denying who the GOAT is. At this point, Bad Bunny’s new album is sounding more like a love letter to Messi than a Latin-trap album.
“Thunder y Lightning”

Translation: Messi, hattrick. Star, Patrick
In ‘Thunder y Lightning’, named after two WWE fighters, Messi gets namedropped once again, this time alongside Patrick, the starfish, from SpongeBob SquarePants. I’m sure that is the first time that Messi’s name has ever been placed alongside the chubby, pink starfish, but to give El Conejo his dues, it worked well in the song. He also then rapped about more quintessential Bad Bunny things such as $100 bills, Aston Martins and the album Illmatic by Nas.
“Acho PR”
‘Maradona y Messi en el futbol,
Pero soy la nueva estrella‘
Translation: Maradona and Messi in football, but I’m the new star
Simple but sweet. In his final Messi shoutout of the album, he adds Maradona to the mix again and compares their stardom to his own.
Well done, Benito.
Bad Bunny will be pleased to know that his idol will return to action for Inter Miami’s game on the road at Charlotte. After being limited to substitute appearances for Miami’s last couple of games, Messi is back and ready to go. He scored twice for Argentina against Peru in a 2-0 win and just simply does not appear to be slowing down.
If keeps it up this way, he may even get ten mentions on El Conejo’s next album!
