With the 2024 NBA Draft coming up soon, let’s take a closer look at the top ten prospects and what they have to offer.

1. Zaccharie Risacher, G/F
Risacher has all the attributes teams are looking for in today’s NBA: Height, length and youth. At 6-9, the 19-year-old wing can do it all on the offensive end, knocking down the three-ball at an impressive rate as well. Risacher played for JL Bourg in France this past year, dropping 28 (5/7 3P) points in the French playoff quarterfinals. While his game isn’t 100% NBA-ready yet, Risacher has tremendous upside as a player. Most sports media outlets have him as the consensus number-one pick in the draft.
2. Alex Sarr, C
Sarr is a 7-footer with a dynamic offensive game who runs the floor exceptionally well for his size. The 7-1 center has the potential to be the ideal modern NBA big man, with his ability to spread the floor and elite rim protection. Sarr worked out for the Wizards, who possess the number two pick, but did not meet with the Hawks, who sit at the top of the board. It’s safe to say Sarr has his sights set on Washington, and the Wizards hope he can be their next franchise player.
3. Reed Sheppard, G
Sheppard was the best shooter in college basketball this past season, shooting 52% from beyond the arc for Kentucky. In addition to his shooting, Sheppard is a solid player on both ends of the floor, with strong playmaking and defensive abilities. Sheppard’s athleticism can’t be overlooked either, posting a 42-inch max vertical at this year’s NBA draft combine, tying for the highest among all prospects.
4. Stephon Castle, G
Castle was a do-it-all player for national champion Uconn this past season. At 6’6, Castle is a big guard with defensive versatility. He can create his own shot and is a very smart and patient player on offense. While his three-point shooting needs some work, Castle is a player who can immediately contribute to any team he goes to, especially on the defensive end.
5. Matas Buzelis, F
Buzelis might be the most intriguing player in this year’s draft. The 6-10 forward can play multiple positions with how well he moves and handles the ball. The combination of stellar shooting, athleticism, and ability to take players off the dribble at his size makes him a fascinating prospect with a high ceiling. If Buzelis can add some muscle to his frame, he could be a scary player in the near future.
6. Donovan Clingan, C
Clingan was the defensive anchor for Uconn this past season, averaging 2.5 blocks per game. At 7’2 and 280 pounds, he is an elite rim protector and lob threat. The Hawks have expressed great interest in Clingan and could take him as the number-one pick.
7. Cody Williams, G/F
Brother of Oklahoma City forward Jalen Williams, Cody Williams is looking to make a name for himself in the NBA. While the 6’8 forward dealt with injuries all season, he excelled in his role with Colorado. Williams is a dynamic combo guard with elite finishing ability and a promising shooting stroke. He has all the physical attributes to make him a successful player in the NBA.
8. Dalton Knecht, G
Transferring to Tennessee for his senior year, Knecht dominated college basketball all season. Knecht is a knockdown three-point shooter who can catch fire anytime. He is also an impressive off-the-dribble scorer with a nice handle and the ability to attack the rim and finish. While he is 23, Knecht’s elite shooting could help him contribute to a team right from the start.
9. Tidjane Salaun, F
At 18 years old, Salaun may be the most raw prospect. Standing at 6-9 with a 7-1 wingspan, Salaun has the tools to become an elite two-way player in the NBA. He is a solid shooter with good off-ball instincts. While Salaun is more of a project, he has the intangibles to be successful in the NBA.
10. Devin Carter, G
Carter’s draft stock significantly rose after the NBA Draft combine. He set a combined record in the 3/4-court sprint and tied for the best max standing vertical leap at 42 inches. Many regard Carter as the best two-way player in the draft, and we believe he perfectly fits the 3&D mold that is so important in today’s NBA.
Other Intriguing Prospects in the 2024 NBA Draft
Zach Edey– Though Edey dominated college basketball, no one really knows how his back-to-the-basket game will translate to the NBA; it will be interesting to see where in the draft he is picked.
Jared McCain– After an explosive freshman season at Duke, McCain’s shooting, defense, and playmaking could translate exceptionally well to the NBA.
Bronny James– While Bronny may not be NBA-ready yet, his athleticism, high basketball IQ, and defensive motor are undeniable.
