The Super Bowl is bittersweet.
It’s by far the biggest and most anticipated sporting event of the year – and it almost always lives up to the hype. We all know someone who hosts a Super Bowl party, which often feels like you’re tail-gating in someone’s living room. It’s an all day affair that even people who don’t normally watch football often partake in. There are even a lot people (myself included) who think that “Super Bowl Monday” should be a national holiday.
The Super Bowl also means the end of the season and the beginning of the long football-less months ahead. If you’re anything like me, you hardly know what to do with yourself those first few Sundays after the Super Bowl. So with only one game remaining until September, let’s all enjoy it to the absolute fullest and betting props can be a big part of that. As the article title suggests, these aren’t the sharpest or best value bets I could find; they’re just the funnest. Let’s have some fun with it this weekend.
Coin toss result
Nothing better than getting in some betting excitement just before kickoff – especially when it’s something with 50/50 odds that requires zero strategy and is totally up to chance.
Will there be Overtime? Yes +1100
Admittedly, this one might not be the most fun for Eagles and Chiefs fans. But for those of us who aren’t living and dying with every play, there are few more fun and exciting ways to end the Super Bowl.
Any non-QB to have a passing TD +2200
Don’t ask yourself whether or not this is likely, ask yourself whether or not this would be fun. You’re fun, so bet on something fun. Who knows, maybe we’ll see The Philly Special 2.0 on Sunday night.
Special teams or defensive TD scored? Yes +285
Touchdowns in the return game can totally flip the momentum of a game and provides instant excitement for fans. The holy grail here, though, is what I call the “Fat Guy Touchdown” – a defensive lineman finding his way into the endzone.
AJ Brown to win Super Bowl MVP
Every football fan knows about AJ Brown’s knack for making exciting highlight worthy plays whether he’s coming down with a deep jump ball in tight coverage or breaking multiple tackles turning a short pass into a long touchdown. For Brown to win the award as a non-quarterback, he’ll need to make several of these types of big plays and that makes for a fun viewing experience for anybody not rooting for the Chiefs.
Combined jersey numbers of all touchdown scorers Over/Under 160.5
You can bet this one either way and you’ll have fun with it – though I’d take the under unless you think Travis Kelce will find the endzone twice.
Will there be a flea flicker? +210
If you don’t like flea flickers, well, just go take a long hard look in the mirror and reevaluate everything in your life.
Will there be an octopus? Yes +1400
I’ll be honest, I’m not even really sure what this means or the context behind it. But I am sure that involving an octopus in some capacity seems fun, so consider me the newest member of #TeamOctopus
Over/Under 51 total points
As they say, life’s too short to bet the under. Take the over and root for a shootout.
Over 14.5 4th quarter points
Give me all the points in the 4th quarter. After all, who doesn’t love a game that comes down to the wire?
