Premier League Power Rankings

The Premier League season is well underway, and as we approach the busy winter stretch, it’s time for the first edition of the 365Scores Premier League Power Rankings. From Liverpool’s high-flying start under new manager Arne Slot to Wolves’ struggles to find a win, each team has faced its own highs and lows.

In this breakdown, we’re ranking teams not just by the Premier League table but also by form, resilience, and standout performances that have shaped their seasons so far. Some clubs are hitting their stride, while others are barely hanging on, with managerial changes and injury woes adding to the drama. Let’s dive into where each team stands and highlight the players who’ve been pivotal to their campaigns as they fight to climb the rankings or avoid the drop.

1. Liverpool

Under Arne Slot, Liverpool have just gone from strength to strength. In fact, it’s the best start a new manager has ever made in the Premier League. Impressive. This weekend it was Brighton who were victims to the swashbuckling Liverpool side. They put up a good fight, but the magic of Mohamed Salah was just too much, who now has seven goals and five assists in ten Premier League games this season.

Liverpool lead the first edition of the 365Scores Power Rankings, and they lead the Premier League table as well.

Best Player this season: Mohamed Salah

2. Tottenham

Tottenham are a weird team. Sometimes, they look like the best-attacking side in the world, and sometimes, they look like their players have never actually met each other before. Last weekend, against Aston Villa, we saw both sides.

The Tottenham that never played with each other before came out to start the game and it took until a Morgan Rogers goal for Villa to remind them they actually play football for a living. After that, it was over for Villa. Dominic Solanke looked more like Luis Suarez and Spurs sauntered to a 4-1 win. They’ve scored 16 goals in their last six Premier League games. If they can find a way to put out these performances consistently, they’ll be playing in the Champions League next season.

Best Player this season: Dejan Kulusevski

3. Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest are the Premier League’s most hilarious team. Dressing room scenes of Anthony Elanga dancing from Ola Aina’s Snapchat make for widely-circulated content on Twitter. There’s been a lot of that recently because Forest have been winning. A lot. Three on the bounce.

A 3-0 win against West Ham on Saturday takes them to third in this edition of Premier League Power Rankings.

4. Manchester City

No Rodri, yes problem…?

When your best player and actually recently crowned Ballon d’Or winner gets injured for the season in September, it’s always going to be difficult after that. City are feeling the effect. Don’t get it twisted, they’ve still got a seriously good team. Erling Haaland, Savinho, Josko Gvardiol, and many others are still putting up big performances. But it’s an adjustment.

They lost 2-1 at Bournemouth last weekend and were crashed 1:4 in the Champions League against the new Man United coach Ruben Amorim, and Sporting Lisbon. That came off the back of a loss to Tottenham in the Carabao Cup. They’ll bounce back, and I almost feel bad for Brighton who have to face the infamous post-loss City.

5. Chelsea

Chelsea are looking good, although against Manchester United on Sunday, it looked like two pub teams had rocked up to Old Trafford for a kickabout. Moises Caicedo provided the late moment of magic for The Blues to secure them a Premier League point.

For the most part, they’ve been very good. Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson have formed one of the most lethal duos in the world, and they’ve helped Chelsea score twelve goals in their last six games. Manchester United don’t even have twelve all season.

Best Player this season: Cole Palmer

6. Bournemouth

Bournemouth are cooking. For the first time in Premier League history, they beat Manchester City at the Vitality Stadium. The week before, they drew at Villa Park and beat Arsenal at home as well. They seem to be the Robin Hood of the Premier League because they lost to Leicester the week before. Either way, Andoni Iraola has got something good happening there, and Evanilson and Antoine Semenyo are deadly together.

Best Player this season: Antoine Semenyo

7. Arsenal

Terrible week for the Gunners. Edu is leaving. Tottenham won. Worst of all, they lost to Newcastle at St James Park for the gazillionth season in a row to confirm a third straight Premier League game without a win. It’s not time to panic yet. There are players injured and once back, it is probable that Arteta’s Arsenal will look like one of the world’s best again. For now, they need to regroup… and fast! It doesn’t help that they face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge next.

8. Aston Villa

Playing in Europe’s premier competition will take its toll on Aston Villa this season as they look to compete on multiple fronts. They’re still doing well, but a collapse against Tottenham on the weekend and a draw to Bournemouth the week before will not fill their fans with confidence.

Despite that, Morgan Rogers has been incredible and his connection with Ollie Watkins is superb.

Best Player this season: Morgan Rogers

9. Newcastle

They’ve had a rough spell, but a massive win against Arsenal should pull them out of it. They’ve got a favorable run until Christmas and they could mount a serious claim for the European spots.

Best Player this season: Anthony Gordon

10. Manchester United

Things may now start to get better for Manchester United. Erik ten Hag has been sacked and Sporting Lisbon’s manager Ruben Amorim is coming in to replace him. Sporting and United have a special relationship, with Cristiano, Nani, and Bruno Fernandes all leaving the Portuguese capital for Manchester so Amorim will hope to be almost as successful as them.

In the meantime, Ruud van Nistelrooy the interim until Amorim joins over the international break. He beat a Premier League side (although in the Carabao Cup) in his first game as they pummelled Leicester 5-2 and then got a respectable if not slightly drab, 1-1 draw against Chelsea in the second game. It’s Leicester, Ipswich, and Everton next for United – they NEED to see nine points.

Best Player this season: Andre Onana

11. Fulham

Fulham are just keeping it solid. Two wins, two draws, and two losses in the last six. Nine scored and nine conceded. They’re nothing remarkable, they’re just doing their bit. They don’t have a cult following or any extraordinary players, they’re just Fulham. And they like it that way.

Best Player this season: Raul Jimenez

12. Brighton

Brighton only sit two points off the Champions League spots. They’ve lost to Liverpool twice in a week but for the most part, spirits are high on the South Coast. They beat Tottenham having gone two goals down a few weeks ago, and they also won at St James Park.

The problem is that they aren’t capitalizing against the smaller teams. They’ve dropped points to Ipswich and Wolves. If Europe is going to come their way again, they need to iron that out.

Best Player this season: Carlos Baleba

13. Everton

After a horrendous start, they’ve sorted themselves out a bit although a loss to Southampton will have aggrieved their fans once again. Before that though, they went five games unbeaten, conceding just three in the process. Their ship is sturdy now, they just need to consolidate some wins.

Best Player this season: Dwight McNeil

14. Brentford

They’re no longer scoring in the first minute of every game anymore, but Brentford had picked up a reputation for rapid starts. Bar Wolves, they’ve been involved in the most goals this season so their games have always been a thrill.

Best Player this season: Bryan Mbeumo

15. West Ham

They beat Manchester United to get Erik ten Hag sacked and then lost 3-0 to Forest. Teams simply step it up another level against the boys from Manchester.

West Ham have one of the leakiest defenses in the league, with 19 goals conceded already. It’s not been their best start, but they’re far from out of it.

16. Leicester

Leicester are a mixed bag. They play some decent football and have some decent players. Yet, it will be a struggle for them not to go down. They’ll be in the battle all season. A draw at Ipswich on the weekend showed the level they’re at.

Best Player this season: Mads Hermansen

17. Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace have only won one game this season but it was against Tottenham and it came recently. A big win is always a catalyst for better results going forward.

Best Player this season: Marc Guehi

18. Southampton

Southampton have not been good this season, at all. A win against Everton has helped to lift spirits ever so slightly but they’re going to need a lot more than that.

Best Player this season: Tyler Dibling

19. Ipswich

Sammie Szmodics and Liam Delap have been bright up top, but Ipswich are yet to win a game in the Premier League. They ended a three-consecutive loss streak with a draw to Leicester on the weekend but things are looking rough for Ipswich in the Premier League.

Best Player this season: Liam Delap

20. Wolverhampton

Also yet to win a game, Wolves have three points from ten games. The only silver lining is that they’re unbeaten in two games, with two consecutive 2-2 draws. It’s really not their season…

Best Player this season: Matheus Cunha
